Playing with Patterns!
Hello beautiful people I’m back again with updates on your Bruins and of course Cori’s Closet! The Bruins came together as they took on UC Riverside and Sacramento State, resulting in a 2-0 weekend! I just love it when we play in harmony! Let’s keep this winning streak going. Ok, now for Coach Cori’s wardrobe, these past two games we decided to have some fun with patterns! See how I incorporated some spunk into Coach’s wardrobe, while keeping it simple and stylish at the same time.
Vs. UC Riverside
Meow! For UCR’S outfit we decided to go with a bold gray, black, and white leopard print jacket as the base. This was Coach’s daring pick, and might I say it was a splendid one. Under the jacket she wore a purple blouse paired with your basic black slacks and a simple black heel. For accessories we went for a jeweled necklace that sat pleasantly on her upper neck area, and subtle earrings that dangle through her hair.
The hint of purple that peeked under the buttoned up jacket, added an extra flare to the entire look!
For those of you who were at the game may have noticed that in the first half coach wore the purple blouse by itself, and during the second half she put on the jacket. Well, by adding a jeweled necklace this gave coach the freedom to take off her jacket if she became too hot or felt too constrained. My goal is to always make Coach feel as comfortable as possible! The necklace dressed up the simple blouse; it was as if she had two outfits in one!
Vs. Sacramento State
For this game day outfit we wanted to take into consideration that coach would be coaching barefoot. Thus, we made sure that her pants didn’t drag on the floor, her collecting dust while coaching is the last thing we wanted to see!
We went with dark navy blue skinny pants with a matching vest as the base of her outfit. Under the vest I choose a blouse with a deep scoop neck line that consisted of colorful patchy patterns.
The simplicity of the vest and pants encouraged me to pick a busy blouse and gave me leeway to take a risk. The vest hugged coach’s figure pleasantly, and the skinny pants complemented and balanced out the blouse, that was exceedingly lengthy.
For accessories we went with a neckpiece that entailed a variety of chains. We then added bangles on each wrist to add a touch of twinkle!
