Meet Nirra Fields
Outside of class and basketball, what interesting activities do you do?
I like to read and and watch documentaries. What makes you love UCLA Women’s Basketball? All the opportunities it provides for us that don't associate with basketball. If you had to pitch one story about yourself to a newspaper that doesn’t involve basketball, what would the topic be about? It would be about how living/growing up with 6 brothers and being the only girl in the family. Are you obsessed with anything? Pizza. I would eat it everyday for months. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do? I would do good deeds for people, bring them cookies, and put it on their desk. What is your nickname? How did you get it and who gave it to you? Nini or Nae. My brothers and teammates call me that. If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only two items, what would they be? Books and watermelon. |
What is your most embarrassing basketball moment?
Tripping in front of the opponent's bench. Who are the role models in your life and why? My mother, because she is the strongest and most sacrificial person I know. Who or what inspired you to play basketball and why? My brothers, because I wanted to do everything they did growing up. If you could have a dinner party with anyone (past or present), what three people would you invite? Oprah, Serena Williams, and Michelle Obama. When no on the court, where would we find you on campus? Reading a book under a tree or room. What is your favorite moment or memory with your mom? Having her watch me win gold at the PanAm games. Describe your favorite meal. Lasagna with apple juice and brownies with vanilla ice cream. Do you have a favorite or inspiring quote you like/use for your personal motto? "Pain is temporary." |
